Chapter 1472 - 60: Dynasty (Part 4)

"Wait, what did you say? You’re Solomon? The King from the Central Empire thousands of years ago?"Fisher also suddenly remembered. This King was famous in history for his worship of Demons. During his reign, he built many things conducive to their activities, such as brothels and wine ponds.

Oh, the grandson of the three generations bewitched by the Demon God Sidi is the King Solomon before us. The story ends with "the grandfather dying of illness, the father dying in battle, and the grandson inheriting the throne". It’s just a pity that by then, the Demon God Sidi had stopped appearing.

But perhaps it was the impression left by the Westin Demon God who had enchanted him that led this human Central Empire King to become so obsessed with the study of Demons.

Legend has it that he built the Central Empire into an extraordinarily strong nation using demonic power, never losing a foreign war, but in his old age, it was destroyed by internal chaos.

Solomon’s son betrayed him, trapping him inside the Royal Palace and burning him alive to seize the throne.

This is yet another "fatherly love and filial piety" story in history, but Fisher doesn’t care about any of that; he’s more interested in why this King, who should have been burned to death, appears in the Demon Dynasty, and why he called him over.

"Ah, yes, it’s me..."

He lowered his head in a bit of shame while subtly attempting to cover his fabric-wrapped face with that staff he was holding, but still couldn’t stop Emhardt’s questioning,

"How are you here? All the books record that you were burned alive by your son."

"...Ah yes, but in my lifetime, I signed a contract with Baal. I promised to offer my servitude day and night after death in exchange for the might of my Empire. Before I was burned alive, Baal took away my death and sent me here, to the Demon Dynasty... ha ha, you see, I named this cursed place myself while I was still on the throne. By the way, guest, how did you come across my destroyed... scroll? And it looks so new, as if it hasn’t been damaged."

Somewhere across a visible connection between one line and its successor, yet not phrased as rephrasing beyond what context exactly puts, even if never asked about that detail freely seems also not differently phrased.

But no answer was ever phrased differently or given nuance apart, like present shaped precisely as across seen, other answer is noted here—"what purpose you called for my presence?" and further expression within seen.

"Well, uh, here’s the situation... even though Baal made a contract with me to serve as a servant, in fact, they intended to curse my lineage through me, a former King of the Empire. In this way, my son who doesn’t worship Demons, and his descendants will all become providers of sustenance for the Demons, extending even to the entire Empire until it eventually perishes..."

Emhardt’s mouth gaped open and couldn’t help mutter,

"Ha, no wonder all your descendants are either crippled or insane because of the Demons."

King Solomon’s son who usurped the throne died young, and then his progeny turned into various demons and monsters. His grandson loved his own mother and sister, his great-grandson was a pervert who loved eating human flesh and enjoyed sadistic killing, and his great-great-grandson practiced homosexuality and often danced naked in public...

Historians term this period as a "nosedive," marking the decline of the once-mighty Central Empire.

Of course, legend has it that it was because King Solomon leveraged the power of Demons that his descendants had to pay the price, and indeed this seems to be the case.

Solomon sighed, nodded, and said,

"Yes, I didn’t foresee it would be like this. The Demon God Baal deceived me on the contract, or rather, it was all part of serving as a servant. And after the fall of my Central Empire, I became utterly useless, reduced to a mere animal just like the Little Devils, until they were collectively Sealed away by the great Mother Goddess, thus quieting the Demon Dynasty entirely..."

Fisher interrupted Solomon’s speech, saying,

"Let’s get straight to the point, why have you called me over?"

"Oh... oh, it’s like this. Initially, after losing my usefulness, I became little more than a beast, but having been deprived of death and unable to die, I wandered throughout the Dynasty. Most Demon Gods treated me as an unwelcome beast, driving me around, only this Demon God residing here didn’t mind letting me temporarily take shelter. I am immensely grateful to her, and during the period of her Sealing by the Mother Goddess, I’ve been guarding this place for her, even if it meant being a watchdog. Yet, even still, I feel it is not sufficient..."

As he spoke, he glanced gratefully at the magnificent building beside the black house, then pointed his staff towards it, saying,

"Not long ago... I say not long, but I have lost track of time, though I reckon not too long. I heard... a noise inside, suggesting that the great Demon God might have regained consciousness... I would like for you to enter and confirm whether she has indeed awakened from the Sealing, and deliver this letter of gratitude alongside my last treasure as a gift..."

Solomon hesitated for a moment before turning back into the tattered black house and carefully taking out a shimmering, star-like pink gemstone, along with a neatly packed envelope beneath it.

He then addressed Fisher, continuing,

"If she hasn’t awakened, it doesn’t matter; just leave these two items there... I am bound by the contract and cannot approach the residences of my Demon masters, so I have to rely on you for this task. In return, I am willing to share everything I know about the Demon Dynasty with you. A visitor like you would surely find it interesting."

Fisher hesitated for a moment, not immediately taking the items offered to him but rather turning to look at the building Solomon mentioned.

He saw that the building wasn’t so magnificent; although it could be termed a "palace" in the traditional sense, compared to others Fisher had seen here, this palace was quite plain.

Additionally, Fisher noticed it was the only palace he saw with a fence around it.

"You say the Demon God previously resided here?"

"Ah, yes."

"But you came to the Demon Dynasty before they were Sealed. Have you never seen this Demon God?"

"To be honest... no, I’ve seen most of the powerful Demon Gods, but not this one..."

Solomon also looked towards this modest palace, saying somewhat regretfully,

"Legend has it that this Demon God is the guardian of war, perhaps because I am not adept in this field, she never responded to me... ha ha, but in my memory, no one has ever summoned her... Elliog Demon, I too wish to witness her grandeur, but sadly..."

"..."

Fisher and Emhardt both paused, then simultaneously turned their heads, looking at this frail, skeletal, old man beside them.
