Chapter 201: Entering Nusantara Continent
Chapter 201: Entering Nusantara Continent
Originally, Virala wanted to observe the situation better. However, he hadn’t even entertained the thought for more than twenty seconds before curling back in terror.
After all, even though the Sandy-Grey Void consumed all manner of light and sound, with the grey sand covering the ground capable of eating through any form of matter, there was a sudden disturbance to the region.
At one moment, Virala wasn’t able to see and hear anything. His surroundings were dark and silent. In the next moment, however, a radiant light filled up the place, like a sun lighting through the night. And then...
Ka-Boom!
Came an earth-shattering explosion, as something heavy seemed to have collided. Virala stealthily peeked out and noticed the man seated on the head of the Empyrean Tusk, calm and collected, like everything was under his control.
The radiance came from him, which was able to push back the conditions of the Sandy-Grey Void away, as if it were mist being scattered. The cause was a punch, generating a pillar of radiance.
And in that instant where the surroundings got lit up, forced into visibility was a humongous monstrosity that had been lying in wait to gobble them up.
However, when the pillar of light slammed into this creature, it began to melt into digested sludge, which the man seated on the Empyrean Tusk’s head slurped up.
’Brangara...!’ Virala gasped in horror, ’He has become incomparably stronger since the last time I fought him.’
’Back then, I could at least hold my own against him. But now...’ With a disappointed expression, Virala returned to hide within the cave, ’Now, I can barely last a few seconds against him. If I crank up my resistance, I can hold on for a minute at most.’
"Haa...haha...hehehe...!" He burst into a maddened chuckle, "I’m that far outclassed, huh?"
"I don’t like this development." He then patted his stomach, closed his eyes, and sensed the nine Quills within, ’I’ve already adapted to the effect of these nine Quills. They are no longer able to influence me.’
’And the information I gained from the Bolts of Transcendence has provided me with a new path.’ He frowned, ’However, even if I were to fully capitalise on these recent gains, I don’t see myself getting anywhere on Brangara’s level.’
He plunged his hand into his stomach and took out a Parute Seed, ’I need to make changes to my existing power. Only then will I ever hope to reach Brangara’s level.’
While in thought, he felt another burst of radiance above, and shuddered in response, ’That fucker! He’s facing Transcendents and not even breaking a sweat.’
The more he observed the flashes of radiance and rumbling of thunder from the fight above, the more his expression grew colder, until a deathly rage built within him.
However, unlike a volcanic eruption, the more he raged, the cruelly silent and conservative he got, so much so he didn’t even generate a speck of presence, appearing no different to a lump of flesh commonly found within the tunnel.
Huddled within the tunnel, he plotted, ’Within this Empyrean Tusk are tens of thousands of pigs.’
’They are breeding like pigs.’ He scowled and then fell silent, passively observing Brangara’s fight.
Gradually, the fight progressed further, as Brangara was shooting more and more pillars of light. Each emission illuminated the mug of a ginormous monstrosity, and then, the monstrosity melted into sludge, which Brangara consumed like his stomach was bottomless.
The Empyrean Tusk continued to walk, not for a moment stopping or slowing down. The grey sand coming into contact with its legs ate into its legs, consuming and assimilating the skin, flesh, blood, and bones to make more of its kind.
After every step, a small mound of grey sand appeared in the spots walked by the Empyrean Tusk. This was the newly created grey sand upon eating through the matter composing Empyrean Tusk’s body.
Prana gathered into its legs and rapidly regenerated through the wounds. Such a level of damage meant nothing to an Empyrean Tusk, which casually pressed forth.
Moreover, when it set its foot upon the grey sand, there wasn’t much of a depression, a far cry from what should have happened due to its weight. The Empyrean Tusk had employed Internal Inertial Gravity to reduce its weight to the limit, causing its steps to be light.
Since its feet didn’t sink much into the grey sand, only a lesser surface area of its legs came into contact with the grey sand. It meant a lower portion of its mass was getting eaten and assimilated into the grey sand.
Overall, it implied a lower Prana consumption. Even if the consumption were to be higher, it wouldn’t matter in the least, as the Empyrean Tusk had already stocked up on enough resources to make a journey thousands of times worth the distance planned to traverse now.
And even if its consumption were to reach such a level, Brangara could still supply it with the necessary Prana. As for where he was getting all this Prana from?
Boom!
Another Transcendent died to Brangara’s attacks and got consumed. Once his stomach digested the Transcendent’s body, a significant volume of Prana got generated in response, which he promptly supplied to the Empyrean Tusk.
Until now, the Empyrean Tusk hadn’t expended even a portion of its stored resources, and instead was able to move purely from the Prana Brangara supplied it, which he had in excess amounts of.
"Fucking cowards," Finally, he commented, for the first time since entering the Sandy-Grey Void. The Transcendents had stopped attacking him, having come to a realisation they were merely fuelling his progress.
As they all vanished into the depths of the Sandy-Grey Void, Brangara merely eyed forward, "Even with a Celestial on your side, you don’t dare dock on Sumatra?"
The only means for a Continent to dock next to another Continent and form a bridge connecting the natives of the two Continents was through Enclaves. On this part of Sumatra, there were three Enclaves, each picked by the strongest of the invading Continents.
Of that, Nusantara Continent had picked the strongest Enclave of Sumatra–the Varahan Enclave.
However, it never docked, for that would mean a direct route will form between the Varahan Enclave and Nusantara continent.
Even though it was significantly stronger, Nusantara Continent was still hesitant to dock, all because of one existence–the Celestial Boar.
Hence, it positioned itself a mere 180 kilometres from Varahan Enclave, a distance short enough for its pinnacle existences to traverse without issues and scatter the Celestial Rotocok’s Quills across various points along Sumatra Continent’s border.
"You’re afraid I’ll use your natives to grow stronger, huh?" Brangara’s voice calmly resounded through the Sandy-Grey Void, and got dampened into vanishing a few seconds later.
"Hence, I’ve come to you myself." At his words, the Empyrean Tusk extended its foreleg and stomped forth, emerging out of the curtain of night.
Its foot then landed upon solid ground, not part of the Sandy-Grey Void. A mere couple seconds later, emerging out of the curtain of night was the ginormous figure of the Empyrean Tusk.
And seated on its head, eyeing the surroundings was Brangara, immediately upon which his voice reverberated like a thunderclap, announcing itself like a heavenly decree, "Feed yourself to me."
As he spoke, he subconsciously drooled, for they had now entered Nusantara Continent.
